Nabi Remains Optimistic After Amakhosi Lose 1-0 to SuperSport

Coach Nasreddine Nabi is confident that Kaizer Chiefs will bounce back after losing to SuperSport United on Saturday, 26 October.

Playing at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, Limpopo, Chiefs – despite their 65% possession of the ball – failed to capitalise on multiple opportunities.

Thanks to a goal by midfielder Tashreeq Morris in the 44th minute, SuperSport went on to win the match 1-0.

This marked Amakhosi’s second Betway Premiership defeat this season, following their initial 2-1 loss to Mamelodi Sundowns on 28 September.

In a post-match conference, Nabi bemoaned his men’s loss, but he wasn’t completely forlorn.

“We controlled practically the whole game,” he said. “Unfortunately, we created many opportunities but we couldn’t score, and the opponent had only one opportunity and they scored it.

“Our young players need to understand [that] to win a football game, you need to put the ball in the net, but we believe that it’s a lesson, even if it’s a tough one. We hope we can do better.”

Here’s hoping that Kaizer Chiefs can redeem themselves when they face underdogs Magesi FC at the same venue this Wednesday, 30 October.
